Join the Law Society of Prince Edward Island for a free public session introducing CanLII, a website that provides online access to Canadian legislation and court decisions from courts and tribunals across the country.
This beginner-friendly session is designed for members of the public who may be curious about how to look up laws or court decisions online but have little or no prior experience with legal research.
During the session, participants will be guided through the basics of using CanLII and navigating the legal information available on the site.
In this session, you will learn how to:
• Use CanLII, a free website where the public can search Canadian laws and court decisions
• Understand the types of legal information available on the site
• Use keywords and search tools to locate legal information
• Narrow down search results to find what you need
• Locate the most current version of a law
Who Should Attend: This session is intended for members of the public who want to learn how to find reliable legal information online. No prior experience with legal research is required.
